🎩 Headgear Quests
💡 Before you farm anything here, note that the War Pack NPC already hands new characters a full headgear loadout for free.
FullRO runs the official hat-quest line in full — the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008 headgear series. That's 39 craftable headgears plus 7 multi-step quests, spread across NPCs in nearly every town.
On top of that there is a row of 8 custom hat NPCs in Payon trading 40 more headgears — see The Payon row below.
Everything on this page was checked against the live server scripts. The old custom hat NPCs that used to stand in a row in Prontera are still retired — they are gone from the server, so ignore any guide that sends you there. The Payon row is a different, live set.
⚠️ Read this before you hand anything in. When a recipe asks for a piece of equipment (a Cap, a Beret, a Straw Hat…), the NPC consumes it whole — any card slotted into it and any refine on it are destroyed with it. Always hand in clean, unrefined gear.

Bring the materials, talk to the NPC, walk away with the hat. No prerequisites, and you can repeat them as often as you can farm the mats.

Worth knowing
- Nanhyang works in both directions — she turns a Model Training Hat + Arrow into an Apple of Archer (handing you a Book back), and swaps it the other way just as happily.
- Argen's Flower Hairpin also returns a Stem, and the Hat Merchant's Party Hat returns 10 Fluff.
- Kitsune Mask — the 999 "Nine Tails" are the tail drops from Nine Tail monsters. The NPC herself keeps spawning more Nine Tails around Payon Dungeon while you work.
- Crunch Toast — Kirishu, the Freight Manager at Einbroch Airport (
airport 148,41), is the one who sends you to Kasis. Come back wearing the toast and he'll thank you for it. - The Censor Bar NPC in Rachel really is named
?— that's not a typo on our end.

A round trip between three monsters who all live in Glast Heim Prison.

🪓 Helmet of Orc Hero
Orc Village — the longest grind on the server. Nothing here is subtle.
Orc Warrior in_orcs01 31,93
- Ten separate turn-ins of 1,000 Jellopy each — 10,000 Jellopy in total. He hands you an Orcish Axe when you're done.
- Then 100 Orcish Voucher to get onto his ledger, and after that keep feeding him vouchers until he has recorded 10,000 victories for you. He gives you the Orc Helm.
- Finally 100 Heroic Emblem → he gives you the Orcish Sword.
Orc Hero in_orcs01 162,33
- Walk up to him carrying the Heroic Emblem, the Orcish Sword and the Orc Helm.
- He only bothers to look at you roughly one visit in ten — so just keep walking back in.
- When he does, he takes the Orc Helm and gives you the Helmet of Orc Hero (Upper + Middle) — engraved with your character's name.
🏮 The Payon row
Eight NPCs stand shoulder to shoulder in Payon, along y = 228 from x = 123 to x = 137. Between them they trade 40 headgears that the official quests above do not cover.
They work like the quick crafts: bring the materials, pick the hat off the menu, walk away with it. No zeny, no prerequisites, and you can repeat them as often as you can farm the mats.
⚠️ The same warning applies — when a recipe asks for a piece of equipment, the NPC eats it whole, cards and refines included.
💡 Five of these hats can also be made by an official quest listed further up this page: Bride's Corolla, Feather Beret, Opera Phantom Mask, Blush and Catfoot Hairpin. Compare both recipes before you farm — they ask for completely different materials, and one is usually far cheaper for you. The other 35 have no other source in the game.
Be warned that a few of these are genuinely brutal, far beyond anything the official quests ask for — Pirate's Pride wants 300 Pirate Skeleton Cards, Satanic Bone Helm wants 10 Mithril Coins, 666 Well-Dried Bone and a Baphomet Doll, and several ask for a Platinum Coin. Both coins come from the Coin Trader in Prontera (149, 163) — Mithril 300,000,000z, Platinum 500,000,000z. Read the row before you commit to farming it.

Everything above the Payon row is an official RO quest. FullRO also runs its own custom hat system — the Kaho Makers, who upgrade a headgear you already own into its Kaho version for 50 TCG Cards. That has its own page: 🐔 Kaho Collection.
